Parenting Tips For Imperfect Parents

SGD 10.00

When it comes to parenting, there is no one-size-fits-all set of advice and methods that works for every family. Even with well-known parenting methods such as Whole Child Development (WCD), adhering to its approaches assumes that every child would react in the same way, which isn’t realistic.

When it comes to parenting, there is no one-size-fits-all set of advice and methods that works for every family. Even with well-known parenting methods such as Whole Child Development (WCD), adhering to its approaches assumes that every child would react in the same way, which isn’t realistic.

Parents know their children best, so a better way would be to cherry-pick methods that align with your values and principles according to the personality of your child. Remember, every child is unique. In other words, rely on your intuition and try it. If it doesn’t work, learn from the outcome and try another way. There is no perfect parent. In this book, we want parents to acknowledge this imperfection in ourselves BUT still try to be perfect, by making it a journey rather than a destination. So, in this book, we wish to entreat all parents to make becoming the perfect parent a work-in-progress. We may never be perfect but that should not stop us from trying – because our children are worth the effort.

  1. Bo Thi Bao Vi – Entrepreneur and Mother

The book is written in an easy-to-understand way. The best parts of the book for me are the part about mental health (of parents) and the Asian way of parenting. This book gives an excellent balance between the Asian culture and Western ways of parenting.
