Starting Right is the first step of this journey and gives you an idea on what josephwong.co offers and your role in becoming a more powerful, proficient and effective communicator. It is recommended that you start here even if you think you are at a higher level. Remember, everyone is at a different level of proficiency.
Starting Right is a 90-minute precursor to the communications journey. It describes:
- What communication is in its key forms and usage; things about the English language we never learnt in school
- How impactful it is in human interactions, fulfilling goals and in leadership
- How much or little you need to plug your knowledge and skills gaps

Communication cuts across all facets of life. There are three key skills to learn:
- The structuring of idea/message
- The techniques
- The practice
Strengthening the Fundamentals is a 3-hour workshop that practises the key communications techniques and delivery. You are encouraged to complete “Starting Right” before embarking on this phase. In this phase, you will learn:
- How to be accurate to be clear
- The value of phonetics in English speech
- Key speech rules and how to use them
- Adopting key good habits that will turn you into a compelling speaker

Communication isn’t the same at every level. There is an unspoken rule on the words you use and the manner and tone you say these words at the appropriate levels.
Achieving Competency is a 3-hour workshop targeted at communicating at leadership levels. You are encouraged to complete “Strengthening the Fundamentals” before embarking on this phase. In this phase, you will learn:
- How leaders speak
- The power of tone and few words
- How leaders think and position their messages
- Spoken skills of influence and persuasion
- Executive presence (gravitas)

Stepping Up Mastery is a one-on-one (private) coaching and mentoring programme that focuses on specific improvement goals identified and agreed with the incumbent. This is especially effective if you wish to prepare for an upcoming event, e.g. speaking at a global conference, presenting an idea to the Board of Directors, training a group of industry leaders, or simply emceeing a high-profile event.
Stepping Up Mastery allows you to spend the requisite time on the identified specific skills or habits that you want/need to work more on at your own pace. If you are not afraid to be rigorously trained, Joseph will ensure you get the most effective coaching you need to meet your stated goals.
The place and duration of this session are negotiable but minimally 8 hours. Joseph will conduct a screening interview to determine the minimum duration. If Joseph is needed to travel, please add the travel and accommodation costs into the stated fee.
